It gives me immense pleasure to put on record that Mendelian Society of India has done a commendable job of publishing Int. J. Mendel for the last three decades, and by doing so it has served the noble cause of disseminating scientific knowledge and findings of original research endeavours of a wide spectrum of esteemed and devoted research workers over the global horizons of science. Moreover, the Society has also shown its keen interest in arranging scientific conferences, symposia and discourses over a good number of topical themes permeating through cross currents of evolving scientific sub-disciplines and areas. This has gone a long way towards achieving its broad mission nicely befitting its self emulated vision. I find enough reason to substantiate the fact that the entire journey of progress achieved by the Society should be primarily credited to the unitiring efforts of founder Secretary and Editor late Professor R. N. Trivedi. The successive team of dynamic members have picked up the unfulfilled task and mission of Prof. Trivedi to lead the Society to a more rewarding stage of glorious standing.

The Excutive Counsil's resolve to bring an online version of the journal of the Society is definitely a very apt and timely approach to catch the focus of a wider readership in this emerging age of information technology.

I wish every success to Mendelian Society of India and its visionary Executive Council.
